OLBRI’S MAGIC
Kai-Mai Olbri’s water-colours and photos “Tangomaagia” (“Tango magic”)
in the Haus gallery until May 30. With the exhibition in the Haus
gallery our most outstanding water-colourist celebrates simultaneously
two events: personal exhibition, which is opened on her 60. anniversary,
is for the artist the twentieth one.

THE SUBORDINATED
NON-SUBJECTING PRIMORDIAL FORCE
In the gallery of the Art Hall can be felt intimacy, says Mai Levin

A SURPRISINGLY
SOPHISTICATED WORK
It is quite complicated to fit the creative temperament of Kai-Mai
Olbri into the Estonian artistic life. Her fight for the recognition
of her vision often reaches psychological and financial heroism.
We can hardly find from among Estonians a person, who is more further
from being greedy and an artistic talent, who is more idealistic.
The fighting idealism of Kai-Mai Olbri is the main reason, why several
practical thinkers can not take her seriously. There is too much
mission in her – more than in Jaan Elken, more than in Jaan Toomik
and even more than in two of them together – so that it already
touches in the opinion of a number of people the boundaries of decency.
